Dr. Nuala O'Farrell
As the doctor who opened her very humble upstairs two bed roomed flat above a pharmacy in 1990, Dr Nuala O'Farrell is very proud of the wonderful, friendly and efficient multidisciplinary team which today constitutes The Cremore Clinic.
Dr Nuala grew up down the road on Griffith Ave. She went to Holy Faith Convent in Glasnevin and on to do Medicine in UCD, qualifying in 1980 with a gold medal in paediatrics. Following three years of paediatric postgraduate training in Ireland and Canada, Dr Nuala spent two years working as a volunteer doctor in Zambia, Africa. She came home to complete her general practice training in Edinburgh and then started working in Finglas.
The Cremore Clinic opened its doors on the first of August 1990. As its founder Dr Nuala is immensely proud of The Cremore Clinic and immensely grateful to the community of Ballygall, Finglas, Glasnevin, Drumcondra and further afield, who have supported and been loyal to our clinic through thick and thin.
Dr O Farrell has been involved in teaching general practice for over twenty year, having been a Tutor with the Irish College of General Practitioners (I.C.G.P.) for seven years, following which she was appointed by U.C.D department of General Practice as a Trainer of post graduate doctors, for the past twelve years.
Her interests include new developments in fertility and helping couples to achieve pregnancy if possible. She is also very interested in helping women through the vicissitudes of the menopausal years. Her post graduate training in the specialty of Paediatrics has stimulated her enduring interest in children and their development. Teenagers and their problems are her special interest in recent years.
"It has been my great pleasure and life's work to look after succeeding generations of patients, most of whom have given me more than I could ever give them."
Dr Nuala's abiding interest has been in the ever changing nature of medicine and in the ever unchanging nature of people and what makes them suffer and what makes them smile!
