FERTILITY

CREMORE FERTILITY

Research tells us 1 in 6 couples have difficulty conceiving and that 40% of issues are directly attributable to women, 40% are equally attributable to men and 20% remains unexplained.

Our Fertility team here in The Cremore Clinic is completed by Dr Dr Nuala O Farrell, Dr Sarah Lawler and Fertility Nurse Specialist, Ruth O Dwyer. Both Nurse Ruth and Dr Sarah have completed further study in fertility and have post graduate qualifications is ultrasonography.

Getting pregnant is not always easy and it can take many months to achieve it.  This can often lead to anxiety and high stress levels. Here in Cremore Fertility, we offer specific testing to assess both male and female fertility. Fertility testing can empower men and women to take control over their own fertility and realise their dream of a much wanted pregnancy. Through our holistic approach to fertility we look at all aspects of your health, from diet and lifestyle to stress and environmental factors and of course the results of your fertility screening tests (outlined in detail below), to adapt a specific plan to optimise your fertility potential. We have enjoyed great success achieving pregnancy for our patients through our holistic approach and our ovulation induction and follicle tracking service. For some of our patients more advanced assisted methods of fertility treatment such as IVF is appropriate and we make sure to refer on to these services in a timely manner.

In general, we would encourage anyone who is concerned about their fertility to come in for discussion and screening investigations. At your first consultation it is important we take a detailed history. Irregular menstrual cycles, previous ovarian surgery, known PCOS or endometriosis, and previous STI’s can all impact on your fertility. In a similar fashion a detailed history from male partners to assess lifestyle, previous testicular surgery or trauma, varicoceles or STI history is relevant and important in assessing and planning your fertility investigations.
