Deirdre joined the practice in 2003 and is the longest-serving practice nurse in the surgery. Deirdre trained in the Meath and national children’s hospital and graduated with a dual qualification in general and children’s nursing in 1982. Deirdre moved to the UK after graduation where she worked as a staff nurse for a number of years in Brighton general hospital and gained experience in a variety of medical and surgical fields.

In 1989 Deirdre returned to Ireland and took up a position in the Meath hospital and subsequently upon its closure in Tallaght hospital where she continued to expand her experience in acute medical and surgical care and also worked for two years in the challenging environment of the accident and emergency care department.

Deirdre has been a pivotal person in the development of the Cremore Clinic nursing services. She is an accredited smear taker with the national cervical check programme. She has an interest in travel medicine. Deirdre is also a central figure in our delivery of the diabetes cycle of care program to our elegise patients with type 2 diabetes

RUTH O'DWYER

Ruth qualified as a General Nurse from University College Cork in 2008 and worked for a period in Cork hospitals before emigrating to Australia in 2009. She completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Midwifery and worked for a few years in North Shore Private Maternity Hospital Sydney before returning to Ireland to join our clinic in 2013. Ruth has a special interest in women's health and fertility and is a certified smear taker with cervical check and fully competent in sexual health screening. She is a member of the British Medical Ultrasound Society and the Senior Infertility Nurses Group, UK. In 2015, Ruth completed a post graduate certificate in medical ultrasound from Bournemouth University, specialising in gynaecology and early pregnancy ultrasound. She is responsible for the planning and implementing of patient care undergoing fertility tests and treatments in our clinic and plays an important role in patient education, advice and support. Ruth performs gynaecology assessment scans, follicle tracking scans for patients having ovulation induction in our clinic and follicle tracking scans for women undergoing IVF treatment overseas.

Ruth is also our midwife sonographer and thoroughly enjoys meeting expectant parents for their first pregnancy scan. This can often be an anxious time for new Mums and Dads and having an early pregnancy scan can provide reassurance and a unique special bonding experience. Often Ruth will continue to care for these women throughout the antenatal period, meeting women regularly for their antenatal checks, providing continued support and preparation for labour, birth and the initial postpartum period.

Ruth is a central figure in our holistic care environment here in the Cremore Clinic.

Mary Lynch is The Cremore Clinic Practice Manager. Mary keeps the clinic running smoothly on a day to day basis. She manages our excellent front of desk staff. The Cremore Clinic has an ethos of putting the patient first from the moment he or she steps in the door. Mary sets the tone for the patient's experience. Our staff, namely Noreen, Frances, Doreen, Trish, Joan, Yvonne, Aideen and Jackie provide the friendly face and sympathetic approach that we pride ourselves on in The Cremore Clinic.

MARY-ROSE HALPIN

Mary-Rose joined our practice in 2018 and came to us with a wealth of knowledge in care of the older person. Mary-Rose worked in a large and diverse nursing home where she started out as Staff Nurse and climbed through the ranks to Assistant Director of Nursing. Mary-Rose is passionate in her belief of caring for the whole person, respecting each individual’s strengths and addressing their needs in a compassionate way.

Mary-Rose graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2011 with an Honours degree in General Nursing. From there Mary-Rose gained experience in Orthopaedic Trauma Nursing and has a particular interest in wound care.

Since joining The Cremore Clinic Mary-Rose has completed the smeartakers course with RCSI and is a registered smeartaker with Cervical Check. Mary-Rose has also completed a course in Sexually Transmitted Infections. Mary-Rose is keen to broaden her knowledge of Practice Nursing and to bring her specialist knowledge in caring for the older person to The Cremore Clinic.

VIJAY ANAND GOPAL

Vijay Anand Gopal is a chartered physiotherapist with over nineteen years of experience working with a wide range of conditions while specialising in orthopaedics, dry needling and musculoskeletal problems. Vijay has been a successful physiotherapist helping patients to rehabilitate and optimise their bodies health. He treats spinal and joint problems, trauma and sports injuries and has extensive experience in treating sporting injuries.

Vijay came to Ireland in 2006 and joined the Cremore team in August 2012. Vijay is also a qualified phlebotomist and on busy days he provides an extra service in the clinic taking bloods.

Vijay is an active playing member of Clontarf Cricket Club and is extremely passionate about cricket. He plays for the Leinster senior cricket team and all Ireland leagues.

DOROTHY TWOHIG

Psychotherapist

Dorothy Twohig holds a Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from DCU and the Turning Point Institute as well as a Professional Diploma in Clinical Supervision from DCU. Her education also includes a Certificate in Group Therapy Facilitation (PCI) and a Certificate in Advanced Mindfulness.

A fully accredited Member of IAHIP, Dorothy draws on many therapeutic approaches in her clinical practice, while also incorporating aspects of CBT and Mindfulness exercises. Central to Dorothy's clinical practice is the creation of a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space in which a client can explore their presenting issues, such as depression, trauma, abuse, and psychological distress.

As a Psychotherapist working in the Dept of Psychology and Psychotherapy at St. James's Hospital, Dorothy has gained extensive experience working therapeutically with individuals and also as a group facilitator. Dorothy has been part of the Cremore Clinic Team since July 2014 where she provides Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy, by appointment on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday (2-8pm).

LEE CASEY

Lee is a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and an accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy.

Lee's philosophy integrates humanistic, CBT and psychodynamic insights in a client-centred approach. He strives at all times to create an atmosphere that is safe, welcoming and non-judgmental for the client to explore and work through the difficulties they are facing.

Recognising that it is brave, and sometimes daunting to come to counselling, Lee works in a way that is always respectful of the client, their experiences, and the importance of establishing a relationship of trust and openness.

As part of the Psychotherapy team within St. James's Hospital since 2010, Lee has gained much experience working with men and women undergoing difficulty in their lives, whether through depression, bereavement, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, sexual identity, addiction, pain, loss, isolation, abuse or other distress.

We are very fortunate to have a therapist of Lee's confidentiality and compassion working with us in the Cremore Clinic.

JOANNE BECKETT

Joanne graduated in 2001 from Salford University with a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry. She is a very popular practitioner and specialises in routine podiatry problems, diabetic foot care and screening.

Joanne looks after patients eligible for the chiropody card scheme and also has a private clinic. Private patients from outside the clinic are most welcome to make an appointment with Joanne.

After graduating from her degree she worked within the NHS around the UK in various locations where she gained valuable experience in developing her clinician skills. Joanne has worked as a chiropodist in the Cremore Clinic since 2012.

BREEGE LEDDY

Breege started working as a Sleep Physiologist in the Mater Private Hospital in 2003 and Graduated from Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MMPH) in Kevin Street. She then proceeded to gain the International Qualification of RPSGT in 2008.

Breege took up the Position of Senior Sleep Physiologist in Bon Secours Hospital in 2008 and completed a CPD Behavioural Sleep Medicine in 2012 (University of Glasgow) specialising in CBT. (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia).

In 2013 Breege set up ``the Insomnia Clinic Ltd`` due to an increasing demand for non-drug treatment for Insomnia. The clinic is the first of its kind in Ireland and offers the only clinically proven long-term treatment for Insomnia.

In February 2016 Breege took the position of manager of sleep and Clinical physiology in the Mater Hospital which she is still involved in and she also joined us in The Cremore Clinic in 2016.

We are delighted to have a sleep therapist of Breege's international calibre to help our patients here in the Cremore Clinic.
